chidori: Worried Kaname. (Worried.)
WHO: Ayame Chidori and Macua Huitl.
WHAT: Ayame encounters a mysterious figure in a Sol Tekkaman in the night.
WHEN: The night of the event with Cecil.
MISSION: Watch Terminator.
WATCH OUT FOR: Mecha Batman.

It was late in New York, while the down town core never really slept some places did. Such as this suburb in the city where the Chidori family lived. Just a family of no real importance to the world at large would be what most people would think.

Some know what the truth is about the familys oldest daughter is, others are beginning to suspect theres something important about her. More so than just being ones friend. Its raining this evening and theres been a bit of lighting too.

Still just a normal rainy night? Not really theres something lurking near by in the dark, someone inside the condo might notice something a bit bigger than a person lurking out in the dark perhaps from a flash of lighting. What is clear even with a glimpse it might not be human. Still everyones asleep right?

Ayame sits inside the living room, the bright flicker of the television screen the sole thing illuminating the room. Legs curled up to her chest, she has a light blanket pulled around her, even despite the warm summer weather.

A commercial break pops on the screen, and Ayame Chidori steps to her feet, hoping to grab something to drink before the movie continues; the blanket slides down her legs, and she grabs it, then turns towards the kitchen.

And in doing so, gets a glimpse of something outside of the balcony window.

Ayame stops in her tracks, still gripping the blanket. She's sure she saw something out there. And she's pretty sure she knows what it is, too.

The blanket is dropped, and Ayame pads towards the sliding door window and pulls it opened. A few stray raindrops from the oncoming storm trickle down her face.

Ayame stands in the doorway, her hand still gripping the frame of the door as she looks out, trying to catch some glimpse of what she's sure she saw in the dark.

Macua Huitl has been doing her best to keep to cover but with the storm, she'd be a lighting rod out there so she'd had to change her perch. Still she had enough cover from the street to not be seen from down there easily. Anyway with the things going on in the city sometimes there were mechs lurking with the Gundam Fighters who often came through town, or various EFA patrols.

She checks the Sol Tekkaman's scanners again. Maybe she was just being paranoid about things but after the stuff in Tokyo with the Venom unit and Cecil it had well. It had left her on edge. Something was wrong and she still had questions to ask Kaname but for now its best to just wait and watch. Hopefully this would be a quiet night and shed vanish before morning.

One couldnt count on dumb luck with the likes of Sousuke happening to be near by, the boy was strange shed admit but he was just a very strange army fan boy right and nothing more. Still how did he know Camille?

Ayame leaves the sliding door open and walks barefooted to the edge of the balcony. Placing two hands on the balcony's edge, she leans over, trying to catch another glimpse of what she's sure she saw on top of the building across the street.

She was sure she saw it! A robot like the movie she was just watching on TV. Well, not exactly like it, but it was definitely close enough!

Macua Huitl gets some movement from the house humm what was that its Kanames little sister, shes not met her yet but she plans to she did seem like a nice person from what Kaname said. Either way the Sol Tekkaman tries to slink back a bit and get down she doesn't want to be spotted at this time.

Ayame squints into the darkness, a raised foot shaking itself anxiously. But there's no movement she can spot, and no gleam of metal like she saw before.

Maybe it was a trick of the light after all.

Frowning, Ayame turns around, just in time to hear the distant sound of automatic gunfire emenating from the speakers of the tv.

Oh, it's back on!

Ayame spins on her heel back towards the living room, prepared to bask in the glow of the television until the movie finally ends in another twenty-three minutes.

Macua Huitl has gotton out of the way it seems, good that could have been pretty bad. Macua hears a bit from the TV. Oh good Ayame should go inside. Was she crazy doing this? Kaname was just a normal girl. One of her cloest friend but why did strange disasters follow her around like a lost puppy. It's really got her wondering.

The door is pulled shut behind Ayane, then locked, and she makes her way back to the counch, the quest for beverage long forgotten with the end of the commercial break.

Hand resting in a bowl of half-finished pocorn at her side, Ayame continues to watch the movie, curled beneath her blanket from her place on the couch.

The movie is decent for what it is, it would be time to go crash but as the credit are rolling. Macua has a small problem, that problem is? The old damaged balcony shes out on is cracking from the suits weight. Its not loud but it forces her to move out from her cover for a moment to re situate herself to a less damaged area.

As this happens there would be another glint of metal and that mysterious silhouette out across the way again.

Ayame yawns, throws her blanket over the top of the sofa, and grabs the now mostly-empty bowl of popcorn. The contents are emptied in the wastebasket and the bowl put in the sink. When Ayame returns, it's not to settle down for another two-hour movie marathon; it's to turn off the tv.

And she does. And as she turns to head back to her room, once again catches a glimpse of shiny metal somewhere in the dark. But this time, she catches it moving.

There's definitely something out there! She wasn't wrong!

She races towards the balcony; the sliding glass door is open and shut again. Barefooted, she takes a few steps out onto the balcony.

"Hey!" she shouts out, leaning slightly over the railing.

Macua has been spotted and turns on reflect that's when Ayame would see the faint glow of the Sol Tekkaman visor she's been spotted now and just stares at Ayame. This is no dream, Ayame isn't seeing things there is something there and it steps out of the shadows making an quiet motion with one finger and its just looking at it.

If the small mechas pilot or should we say wearer makes no motion to attack. If it wanted to it could do away with Ayame but its not. It makes a short jump, which is surprisingly quiet as it lands on the balcony and looks the high school student over and speaks quietly over a voice warped loud speaker.

"Yes?"

Ayame hadn't been expecting a response at all, let alone have the mysterious figure in the shadows reveal herself; when the armored suit leaps through the air, Ayame watches, her mouth slightly agape in surprise.

"A-ahh!" Ayame stumbles backwards as the Sol Tekkaman lands; she raises her arms in an attempt to shield herself. The balcony shudders slightly under the impact of the jump, but quickly stabalizes. Ayame slowly lowers her arms.

"Who are you? Why were you up there?"

Macua Huitl doesn't have long before she has to vanish. The unit arms fold across it's chest and it looks down not out of distain but need to look at Ayame.

"Who I am isn't really imporant if you must call me Echo. Your sister was attacked was she not? When her home in Japan was also leveled by an rampaging Arm Slave. It warrents some looking into."

"Yeah, but it was just a mugger!" Ayame says. "It happens a lot. And since the colony drop, it's only gotten worse..."

Ayame's expression seems to faulter a little more with every word she utters. Even she has to admit that the attack on Kaname's apartment complex was strange. Most attacks involving armored suit leveled entire areas, not one specific building.

And then there was the terrorist hijacking during her school trip the year before.

Ayame wanted to believe that it was bad luck, but the more these strange things happened, the less likely it seemed.

"Is someone trying to hurt Kaname?"

Macua Huitl nods. "Even with the efforts of Chibodee Crocket and the monks from Neo China. It's still not pretty but it would be nightmareish without them. Since you spotted me I might as well tell you something of use."

"It's possible and I think people may have forgotton about you and your father as also being at risk."

"At risk? Why would we be at--"

And then it dawns on her; she's seen this in action movies before. Terrorists targeting a specific person would abduct family members or friends in order to blackmail them.

"Why would anyone be after Kaname?" It just doesn't make any sense.

The sky rumbles; another raindrop falls, and rolls down Ayame's cheek. It's going to storm soon.

Macua Huitl shakes her head. "That I do not know." It opens a small compartment and handfs it to Ayane it's a small data card. "There is information on this, should things hit the fan. If it does access it it should get you enough information to get to safety with your father. Possibly Kaname if she's with you."

Ayame takes the card, then looks down at it, her expression disbelieving. But the card is there, in her hands, as real and tangible as the armored suit before her.

She wants to ask if they're serious; Kaname's perfectly normal. But if someone's guarding her, if someone is going through the trouble to find them a place to stay in case something happens, they have to be serious.

And that troubles Ayame far more than a string of unusual coincidences.

"If something happens," she says, looking up from the card. "Is there a way-- is there a way for me to get in touch with you?"

Macua Huitl nods once to Ayame for a moment "Yes there is, a comm number you can reach me at in there. I will come also there is the number of another man I'd trust to help." Which would be Akira. Macua now looks away for a moment. "I best be going and don't worry your sister about this. She's got enough on her plate as it is."

"I won't." There's determination in the voice of the smaller girl as she grips the card tightly to her chest.

If her sister really is in danger, she'll do anything she can to help her.

"...Thank you."

The suit pauses. "You sound about as strong as your sister is."

With that the suit leaps away and into the night.
